Centella asiatica contains active ingredients known as terpenoids (natural compounds), with four that have been studied and used for their skincare benefits. These are: • Asiatic acid • Madecassic acid • Asiaticoside • Madecassoside Together, with ingredients panthenol and allantoin, these form Cicaplex®, a powerhouse complex designed to help heal, soothe and reduce skin redness. How do they work? • Centella Asiatica facilitates skin absorption, helps strengthen the skin barrier, gives skin elasticity and supports cell rejuvenation by sealing the liposomal vesicle (transdermal carriers) with Centella Asiatica extract. • Panthenol attracts moisture and holds water in the skin, allowing the skin to hydrate itself from within. • Allantoin helps with skin cell rejuvenation for a gentler way to smoother skin, also helping to reduce acne scarring. It is a keratolytic agent, meaning it can soften and separate out the cornified (tough) layer of skin. It keeps the skin smooth as the dead skin layer is then shed off.
